Tanzania Powers Up: Energy Management and Audit Training Boosts National Efficiency
The Energy Efficiency Project is thrilled to launch the Energy Audit and Management Training at DIT today! The event was officially opened by the Ministry of Energy, with Eng. Styden Rwebangila representing the Permanent Secretary. The event also welcomed representatives from the EU Embassy, the Embassy of Ireland, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, UNDP, and the course participants.
Supported by funding from the EU and the Embassy of Ireland, this program will train 132 participants from both government and private sectors. The training is structured into six cohorts, each with 22 trainees, and combines classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience. After completing the training, participants will take exams, and those who pass will be accredited to conduct energy audits and manage energy efficiently.
Speaking at the launch evet, Eng. Styden Rwebangila, Assistant Commissioner for Energy Development at the Ministry of Energy, highlighted the potential of the trained experts to revolutionize Tanzania’s energy sector. "These professionals can support businesses in conducting efficient audits, leading to cost savings, increased productivity, reduced carbon emissions, and the creation of green jobs. We encourage them to apply their skills for the betterment of the country’s development," he said.
