Today, 12 September 2025, the Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), hosted the awarding ceremony of the 2nd Energy Efficiency Innovation Challenge in Dar es Salaam. During the event, 10 innovators were each awarded TZS 25 million seed grants to implement solutions in energy-efficient appliances, green buildings, and behaviour change. Officiated by Eng. Innocent Luoga, Commissioner for Electricity and Renewable Energy (representing the Permanent Secretary), the ceremony also featured remarks from the EU and UNDP, reaffirming their commitment to Tanzania’s National Energy Compact and Energy Efficiency Strategy 2024–2034.
